Wyoming Area School District launched an official scholarship web site on which students and parents can access scholarship information about local scholarships that are offered by civic groups, businesses, individuals, etc.
There are many scholarships offered to Wyoming Area students and those on the web site are a small sampling of the many offered, the district announced. Students and parents are encouraged by school officials to check the web site often and also to visit the guidance office for all the scholarship offerings available to them.
To access the website log onto wyomingarea.org then clink on the link for Wyoming Area Scholarship Website which is located in the middle of the page under the pictures of the school buildings.
Once on the link you can scroll down the left side of the page and access information about the various scholarships. You can also access the application which can be used for all the scholarships on the web site and it can be completed on line.
Full details for completing the application were outlined during a Scholarship Information Night held Thursday in the high school auditorium which was attended by more than 200 parents and students. Many donors were in attendance and talked about the specifics of their scholarships. These details are available on line or in the guidance office.
The Wyoming Area Guidance Department along with various faculty members, parents, donors and community people worked together to develop this specific service.
Any individual, business, or civic organization interested in developing and offering scholarships to deserving Wyoming Area students should call the guidance office at 570-655-2836, extension 2339.
