James J. Connors, 76, died January 16, 2009 in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Pittston on June 18, 1932, he was a son of the late Dr. Martin L. Connors and Rita M. Rogers Connors. He attended Pittston High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army Infantry. He was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus, John F. Kennedy Council, Pittston, and a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Martin L. and John T.; and sisters, Rita M. Clark and Mary Therese Borr.
Surviving is a brother, T. Rogers Connors and his wife, Elizabeth, Charleroi; a sister, Frances Lawler, Pittston; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Jan. 20 from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, West Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Pittston. Interment, St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston.
