The V.F.W. Post No. 4909 will hold a meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8 at the post home. Commander Mark Roney will preside. Home Association meeting will follow. Refreshments will be served.

Dupont Lions Club meeting

Dupont Lions Club will hold its first meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8 at the VFW Post Home on Main Street. Installation of new officers will take palce on Sept. 22. Nancy Cronick will contact each Lion members for reservations plus detailed information.

NARFE meeting

National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) President John Ryan has announced the next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at the VFW, 401 Main St.

Gas service lines

Patty McDonald, borough manager, reminds residents interested in gas service lines and have signed the petition for gas services must also go online to the UGI website and look for the Get Gas Program and fill out the questionnaire.

Borough officials met with UGI representatives and were informed to have residents go online to fill out the form. Those residents who do not have access to a computer can stop by the municipal office during regular business hours for assistance.

Public Works

summer hours

Dupont Public Works Department is working its summer hours for pickups of refuse, yard waste and recycling. Summer hours are from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents are asked to place their items curbside the night before a scheduled run. The department will no longer make return trips for pickups.

Residents are reminded that borough bags must be used and there is a weight limit. Borough workers need to lift the bags into trucks and over limit bags can cause injury. Bags will be left curbside that exceed the weight limit.
