The brother team of Joe and Len Coleman marched away with top honors in the Ryder Cup tournament at Emanon Golf Club. The format is a six- hole switch event using a better ball of partners format for 6 holes, a Captain and mate format for 6 holes, and finally, alternate shot format. The Coleman boys fashioned a blistering round of 6-under par 64 to easily win the event.
Second place went to the team of Len Benfante and Guy Fasciana, winners of the Opening Day tournament, who shot a 1-under par 69. Third and fourth place went to the teams of Rick Evans and Dave Wisnosky and Barry White and Gus McGuire, both of whom shot scores of 71.
First Flight winners were Harry Stevens and Ralph Harding with a score of 73. Paul Boylan-Dave Snell took second place as Jerry Gavin-Jack Gilbride took third with scores of 74. Mark Kolmansperger-Bob Lampman rounded out the flight with a 75.
Second Flight went to Jerry Zezza and Ron Rogers (members of West Pittston High School Class of 1959) with a 79. They beat out the team of Phil Pisano-Joe Sperazza who also shot a 79. John Hoban-Bob Kuzmick took third with an 80 as Del Durland- D. Lynn took fourth with an 81.
Signup sheets are available for the Founders Day Tournament the weekend of June 12th-14th. Defending champions Barry White and Bill Briggs will be back to defend. This is a member-member or member-guest event and feature 54 holes of medal play . Contact the Pro Shop at 388-6112 with any questions.
