Amy Lynn Phillips and David Edmund Vincenti were united in the sacrament of marriage Saturday, October 25, 2008 at St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin by the Rev. Michael Kirwin, Pastor and the Rev. James Paisley.
The bride is the daughter of Robert and Beverly Phillips of Shantytown. She is the granddaughter of the late Joseph and Olga Phillips and the late Andrew and Helen Tutko.
The groom is the son of Robert Jr. and JoAnn Vincenti of Plains Township. He is the grandson of the late Robert Sr. and Mary Vincenti and the late Edmund and Josephine Zbierski.
The bride escorted by her father, chose her sister, Danielle Phillips, as matron of honor. The groom chose his brother, Robert Vincenti III, as best man and friend, David Tressa, as groomsman. Readings were given by Christopher Phillips and Robert Phillips, brothers of the bride and Kelly Phillips, niece of the bride. Offertory gifts were presented by Livie and Ella Hoban, Amanda Phillips, Kelly Phillips, nieces of the bride, Kyle Phillips, nephew of the bride and Jenna Vincenti, niece of the groom. Musical selections were provided by Joelle DeLuca, organist and soloist and Jule Sipler, violinist.
A bridal shower was hosted by the mothers of the bride and groom at St. Maria Goretti Banquet Center, Laflin. The parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Fox Hill Country Club, Exeter. An evening cocktail hour and dinner reception were held at the Radisson Lackawanna Station, Scranton where guests were entertained by the New York Times Band.
The bride is a graduate of Pittston Area High School and Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. She is employed as a pharmacist at Rite Aid. The groom is a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School and Johnson College. He is employed as a machinist at Tobyhanna Army Depot.
Following a honeymoon to Aruba, the couple resides in Hudson, Pa. They will celebrate their first anniversary with a return trip to Aruba.
