Five Wyoming Seminary seniors have been named Commended Students in the 2010 National Merit Scholarship competition, said John Gordon, Dean of the Upper School.
The students are Katherine Granger, Kingston; Gina Insalaco, Pittston; Leah Levine, Simpson; Brigid Smith, Mountain Top; and Nicholas Strzeletz, Dallas.
About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2010 competition by taking the 2008 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
