The Key Club of Pittston Area High School recently held an Alex’s Lemonade Stand fundraiser at the Quinn’s Supermarket in Pittston to raise money and awareness of childhood cancer causes, primarily research into new treatments and cures. The mission of the project is to encourage and empower others, especially children, to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer. The students involved sold lemonade, distributed stickers, balloons and temporary tattoos to children and research information to adults. The Key Club wants to acknowledge the donations of Quinn’s customers who participated as well as the donation of lemonade from Quinn’s Market, the balloon helium from Party Zone and a donation for supplies from the Pittston Kiwanis. Pictured working at the stand are, from left, Kate Musto, Liz Scialpi, Ashleigh Rose and Shannen Brady, all officers of the Key Club. Absent at the time of the photo was Kaleigh Valeski, also an officer.
