The Montgomery Avenue PTO will hold their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 7, in the school cafeteria. The group will discuss class trips and the Easter Egg Hunt. All parents are urged to attend.

Gertrude Hawk candy pick-up will be in the school cafeteria 2:30 to 4 p.m. and again from 7 to 8 p.m.

PSSA assessment

The PSSA Writing Assessment for all 5th grade students in the Wyoming Area School District will be administered on April 8 to 10 and make-up will be on April 11.

Food drive

Our Montgomery Avenue Elementary PTO is conducting an Easter food drive at our school. Anyone wishing to donate any kind of non-perishable food for this project please do so any time until the Easter Holiday. Anything you can donate to this food drive would be greatly appreciated.

The food will be donated to the United Methodist Church food pantry across the street from our school. The food collection boxes will be placed across from the cafeteria entrance.

Kindergarten registration

The Montgomery Avenue Elementary will hold their kindergarten registration for the 2014-2015 school year on Tuesday, April 8, from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Children must be five years old by August 31, 2014 to enter kindergarten. Parents will need to bring on that day along with their child — a birth certificate, immunization records, proof of residence (most current utility bill or rent receipt, a driver’s license is not acceptable). Children who become registered at this time will receive a hearing, readiness, and vision screening at the school. Registrations for the other elementary buildings are as follows:

Sarah J. Dymond – April 7, from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

John F. Kennedy – April 9, from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Tenth Street Elementary – April 10, from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
