Michelle Golden, Michael Romanowski and Thomas Romanowski, all of Pittston, have been named to the Dean’s List at Bucknell University for the fall semester of the 2013-14 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean’s list recognition.

Golden is the daughter of James and Denise Golden and a graduate of Wyoming Area. Michael Romanowski is the son of Michael and Kellie Romanowski and a 2010 graduate of Wyoming Area. Thomas Romanowski is the son of Thomas and Erica Romanowski and a 2010 graduate of Wyoming Seminary.

Cirelli wins scholarship

Martin Cirelli, Hof arding, a student at Holy Redeemer High School, won a $1,000 scholarship to Paul Smith’s College after participating in the Presidential Scholarship Competition on campus.

Cirelli was one of 100 competitors at the event, which was held on Saturday, Feb. 22.

Contestants participated in a pair of group problem-solving challenges as part of the competition. One was centered around an exercise to build a tower using balloons and few other materials; the other involved writing and acting a play using a handful of provided elements. The students also participated in a one-on-one interview with a college representative.
