Edward L. Martin, 74, of Luzerne, died July 23, 2010, at Hospice Community Care, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Pringle, he was a son of the late Edward and Elizabeth McHugh Martin. He was a graduate of Larksville High School, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement, he was a truck driver for Suburban Propane of Pittston. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Francis and Leonard Martin.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, the former Rita Healey; daughters, Maureen Pennington and husband, Mike, of Ohio, and Kerry Zawadski and husband, John, of Luzerne; sons, Edward III and wife, Cheryl, of Sweet Valley, James and his companion, and Mary Rose Salvo, of Pittston; and grandchildren, Alesha and Maranda Martin; brothers, Thomas and Paul Martin, of Pringle; sisters, Mary Shepley, of Pringle; Kathy Hetzel, of Kingston; Beth Ann McMichaels, of Dallas, and Theresa Sokoloski, of Kingston.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held July 27 at the Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. Interment at the convenience of the family.
