Any Wyoming Area Senior who is going to make or has made a commitment to serve in a branch of the Armed Services should give his/her name to Mr. Butler in the Guidance Department. There are a few awards that are exclusively for those committed to serving in any branch of the armed services after graduation.
West Wyoming American Legion Post #904 will award $500.00 to one senior who has signed commitment papers and has the highest QPA of all those who apply for this scholarship. The West Pittston American Legion Post 542 in memory of First L.T. Jeffery F. DePrimo will award $100.00 to any Wyoming Area senior who has made a commitment to serve in any branch of the Armed Services.
To qualify for any of these awards the senior must furnish Mr. Butler, Chair of the Guidance Department, a signed copy of his/her commitment papers. Seniors should visit the guidance department to see about other scholarships that are available. There is a printed list available there.
