Hedwig Helen Kosar, 80, of Troback Drive, Exeter, passed away peacefully Dec. 9, 2007, at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, Glen Burnie, MD. Her husband was the late Peter Kosar, who passed away on September 27, 1998.
Born May 25, 1927, in Warrior Run, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Kasulen. Hedwig was a graduate of the former Warrior Run High School.
Prior to her retirement in 1980, she was employed as a clerk at the former Acme Markets, Forty Fort.
Hedwig was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, West Pittston.
In addition to her parents and husband, Peter, she was also preceded in death by her brothers Joseph and Felix; and sisters Pauline, Eleanor, and Helen.
Hedwig is survived by her brother Tony Kasulen, Hanover, Pa.; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial, was celebrated Dec. 12, in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, West Pittston, with the Revered Michael J. Piccola, her pastor, officiating. Interment with Rite of Committal followed in St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Plymouth. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to and under the direction of the Mary A. Harostock Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre.
