The Luzerne County Slovak League of America, Branch #474, nominations and election of officers was held at a recent annual meeting. An installation dinner was held immediately following the business meeting. Marie E. Chmarney was honored as the Slovak League 2014 Person of the Year. This is the first time since the league’s inception that a woman has received this prestigious award. From left, are Luzerne County Judge Fred Pierantoni, Robert M. Chmarney, president; Andrew J.
