Nathan Zondlo, a senior at Pittston Area, recently set a new Pittston Area Cross Country course record with a 16 minute, 17 second performance, beating the old record which was 16 minutes, 22 seconds. Zondlo trains year round and he said he “felt good achieving something so big in an underrated sport.” He began his cross country career during his junior year, and he also runs track, which he started when he was a sophomore. As Zondlo says, “Sometimes you have to risk going too fast to see how fast you can go.”
Tickets are now on sale for the Homecoming Dance which will be held on October 20 from 6-10 pm at the Quality Inns. Tickets are $20.00 per person and reserved seating is not necessary. The dance will be a semi-formal, so proper attire is a must. The dance will be open to Pittston Area students only from grades 9-12. Student participation is greatly encouraged since this is the first Homecoming Dance in a number of years.
