Raymond Bernardi, superintendent of the Wyoming Area School District, recently announced kindergarten registration dates for the 2014-15 school year.
The registration schedule for each school will be as follows:
- Sarah J. Dymond Elementary, Harding/Falls, will be from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 7.
- Montfomery Avenue Elementary, West Pittston, will be from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8.
- John F. Kennedy Elementary, Exeter, will be from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9.
- Tenth Street Elementary, Wyoming/West Wyoming, will be from 9 to 11 am. and from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 10.
Children must be 5 years old by Aug. 31, 2014 to enter kindergarten. A birth certificate as evidence of age must be provided upon registration. Proof of residents in the form of a deed, signed lease agreement, current utility bill, property tax bill, check stub for wages, public assistance or Social Security must also be presented..
State law requires that children enrolling must have proper immunizations. Immunization records must be present upon registration. The following vaccines are required: four doses of tetanus, four doses of diphtheria, three doses of pollo, two doses of measles, two doses of mumps, one dose of rubella, three doses of hepatitis B, two doses of varicella or evidence of immunity. Most vaccines are given as part of DTP, DT, Td, or MMR.
