PLAINS – The Polish American Veteran’s Association, 2 S. Oak St., reminds social members to renew memberships starting Monday, Nov. 21.
There will be a special table set up for convenience of the members from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Memberships are $10 and must be renewed by Saturday, Dec. 31.
WILKES-BARRE – Student Council of Wyoming Area Catholic held a collection for the Veterans Hospital in Wilkes-Barre. Each class brought in designated items to contribute to this service project.
Items collected were word finds and large print books, body wash, sketch books and notebooks, shampoo and conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes and denture cleaner/cream, deodorant and shaving cream, boxed greeting cards and a book or roll of stamps, large print books and large print playing cards.
Pittston Area Leo’s Club joined efforts with Wyoming Area Catholic School and took up a collection and donated the funds to purchase stamps.
All items will be delivered to the Veterans Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
