PITTSTON — The Pittston City Fire Department was presented with the first print of the Arts on Fire Pittston City poster Dec. 6.

This poster, made by the newly formed Pittston Arts Council, shows the first 28 hydrants that have been transformed into pieces of art throughout the City of Pittston.

Posters will be sold at Art on Main, 71 S. Main St. and all proceeds will go towards more art projects in the city.

The Arts on Fire project was started with the blessing of Pittston City Fire Chief James Rooney, city officials, Pennsylvania Water Company and using the efforts of Brian and Jillian Matyjevich. There are approximately 34 hydrants completed and several more in the process of being painted.
