PITTSTON TWP. — The Pittston Township Police Department is investigating an increase in the number of daytime residential burglaries and vehicle break-ins.

In most cases, the incidents involve suspects entering homes through front or rear doors and removing items easily concealed, such as jewelry and cash.

Police also report suspects are targeting unlocked vehicles. Items reported stolen include cash and gift cards.

Police urge residents to activate alarm systems in their homes and vehicles and keep the perimeter of their home well lit. Residents can also create the illusion of being home by using timers on lights and leaving radios and televisions on.
