DURYEA — Sixth-grade students at Holy Rosary Elementary School celebrated an irrationally fun Pi Day on March 14. Preparation lasted for weeks with a shirt design contest. Faculty, staff and sixth grade students sported shirts bearing a logo designed by sixth grader Brielle Scheland. Classroom contests centered around the non-terminating digit known as pi. Students pinned the radius on the circle, decorated pi symbols and listened to pi day music. Dino DiMauro and Brielle Scheland were crowned King and Queen of Pi for the day.
