PITTSTON TWP. — Starting in June, yard waste will be picked up monthly on the first and third Tuesday of each month in Upper and Lower Browntown, Cork Lane, Tedrick and Market Streets west of the bypass, Stauffer Heights, Center Street, Laurel Street, Doty Street, Mill Street, Horizon Estates and Stauffer Pointe.
Yard waste will be picked up the second and fourth Tuesday of each month in Butler Heights, Suscon, Pocono Ridge Estates, Houston City, Glendale, Route 502 and Quail Hill.
Yard waste must be in containers under 30 lbs. Waste in plastic bags will not be collected. Paper bags can be used. Yard waste consists of grass, leaves and garden debris only.
Tree branches must be bundled and tied and can be no longer than six inches in diameter and no longer than six feet in length.
The following items cannot be picked up: rocks, concrete, stone, tree stumps, lumber, plastics (including bags) and ashes.
