Wyoming Area Catholic School announces upcoming events

• Friday, Oct. 13 to Friday, Oct. 27 —2:45 to 4 p.m.

Lions/Leos Club

The Pittston Area PDG Leo’s Club and Wyoming Area Catholic School have joined efforts to fight blindness. Residents can donate used prescription glasses in a collection container in the Wyoming Area Catholic school lobby. Acceptable eyewear includes prescription glasses or sunglasses, but no eyeglass cases.

Race for Cougars

Race for Cougars will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20 in the fenced in-field area behind the school. Parent volunteers and teachers will assist the students in this venture.

Race times are:

• Pre-K & kindergarten — 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

• Grades 1,2, and 3 — 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

• Grades 4, 5 and 6 — 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

• Grades 7 and 8 — 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

• Thursday, Oct. 12 — Reconciliation

• Monday, Oct. 16 — Life Touch school pictures (Mass uniforms)

• Tuesday, Oct. 17 — Pre-K through grade 3 field trip to Roba’s

• Tuesday, Oct.17 — Final Diocesan Forensics Competition, 6 p.m. at Holy Cross High School

• Wednesday, Oct. 18 — Grades 6,7, and 8 trip to Gettysburg

• Monday, Oct. 23 — Grandparents’ Mass, 9 a.m.

• Tuesday, Oct. 24 — Lackawanna River Conservation Program, 9 a.m.

• Sunday, Oct. 29 — Halloween Party/Haunted House, 5:30 p.m.

• Sunday, Oct. 29 — Dance for grades 6, 7 and 8, 7 p.m.

• Tuesday, Oct. 31 – Halloween parade, 8:15 a.m. Classroom parties after the parade; dismissal is at 11 a.m.
