Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in the rectory.

A Night at the Races will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, in the parish hall. The doors open at 5 p.m., and the races begin at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person and includes food and beverages. Horse sponsorships are $10 each. The sponsor of the winning horse wins $50. Sponsorship registration forms are available in the church vestibule or the parish office. They should be returned to the parish office by Friday, Feb. 9, for inclusion in the event program. Returns made after this date will be added to a race the night of the event. A Healing Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12 in observance of the 26th World Day of Sick. During the Mass there will be a communcal celebration of the Sacaremtns of the Anointing of the Sick.

Ash Wednesday lithurgical schedule for Wednesday, Feb. 14 is as follows: 7:30 a.m., 12:10 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Raffle tickets for the Holy Name Society “300 Club” are available from any Holy Name member. There are a limited number of tickets. Drawings will take place during Lent.

A flea market will be held Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6, in the church hall. Beginning in April, items in good condition will be accepted in the church hall. Donated items that will be accepted include household items, kitchen items, toys, holiday decorations, books, jewelry, furniture and more. Electronics and clothing will not be accepted.

Members may pick up their first quarter church helper list for 2018 and Portals of Prayer for 2018 in the rear of the church at the beginning or end of service.

St. John’s is renting out the lower level to non-members for events. Cost is $100 for three hours and $35 for additional hours, plus $100 returnable security deposit. For more information, call the church.

The Greater Pittston Kids Clothes Closet is open from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays.

The Care and Concern Free Health Clinic is open every Wednesday and is free of charge. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. in the former Seton Catholic High School and is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Patients for The Pediatric Health Clinic opens at 4:30 p.m. on the first Thursday and third Thursday of the month at the Care and Concern facility, 37 William St. Children’s immunization records are required upon registration. Parents or guardians must be present to have their child examined. All services are free and confidential.

The food pantry is always in need of the following items: cereal, tuna, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit, soups, vegetables, canned hams and other non-perishable items. Call 570-654-9923 for more information.
