Kristi A. Karkut and Mark A. Maros were united in marriage Sept. 1, 2017 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. The ceremony was officiated by Father Thomas Petro. A reception followed at the Holiday Inn — East Mountain, Wilkes Barre.

The bride is the daughter of Joseph and Lori Karkut, Dupont. She is the granddaughter of the late Alyce and Donald McAtee, New Jersey; and the late Mary and John Karkut, Dupont.

The groom is the son of Ann Maros, Avoca, and Mark Maros, Old Forge. He is the grandson of Carol and Stanley Maros Sr., Scranton; and the late Lucille and Robert Burke, Scranton.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by father Joseph Karkut. She chose sister Nikole Karkut as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Jonelle Taylor, cousin of the bride; Elizabeth Kuna and Katrina Madonia, friends of the bride; Melissa Caprari, Lynn Mursch, and Laura Maros, sisters of the groom.

The groom chose friend Jay Forlenza as his best man. Groomsmen included Stanley Maros, cousin of the groom; Brad Tucker, Eric Zelinski, Steve Kopko, Matt Fredmonski, and Steve Brazon, friends of the groom. Matty Mursch, nephew, was the ring bearer.

The bride is a 2006 graduate of Seton Catholic High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from King’s College in 2010 and Master of Science degree in business administration from Wilkes University in 2016. She is employed by the Department of Defense as a federal cost analyst with Defense Contract Management Agency at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey.

The groom is a 2004 graduate of Seton Catholic High School. He earned a degree in residential carpentry from Delaware County Community College in 2014. He is employed as a commercial carpenter and a member of The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local Union #445.

The couple resides in Old Forge.
