WILKES-BARRE — The Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce has selected Lori Nocito, executive director of Leadership Wilkes-Barre as the 2015 ATHENA Award recipient.
The international award, sponsored locally by Riggs Asset Management, honors an individual for professional excellence, community service and assisting women in their attainment of professional excellence and leadership skills. The event will also recognize the 30th anniversary of the ATHENA Award in Wilkes-Barre with a special tribute presentation with many of past honorees returning for the event.
Nocito will receive the award at the Chamber’s Celebration of Community Leadership, sponsored by Wells Fargo, at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, at the F.M. Kirby Center, Public Square.
Nocito has worked with the Pittston Tomato Festival, Pittston City Junior Councilpersons, Leadership Wilkes-Barre staff and interns, Leadership Wilkes-Barre participants, and others.
