PITTSTON – The Greater Pittston YMCA is ramping up two swimming programs for the fall of 2024 including free-swimming lessons for children.

Step Into Swim classes will take place every Tuesday from 6 to 6:30 p.m. from Sept. 17 through to Nov. 5. The classes are free for children ages 6-12. Space is limited.

“This is a scholarship program, broken into two swim sessions, giving access to families who cannot afford an eight-week swim lesson,” Samantha Reinhardt, Greater Pittston YMCA Aquatic Program coordinator, said. “To register, the families will need to fill out a financial aid form.”

Regular swimming lesson sessions will be available from Aug. 19 through Sept. 28 and Sept. 30 through Nov. 9.
