PITTSTON – Greater Pittston Santa Squad (GPSS) is ready to bring in the festive season of Christmas this spring for their “Spring into Christmas” celebration at the Susquehanna Brewing Company (SBC) on Saturday, May 17, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
According to Anthony Marranca, founder and president of GPSS, the non-profit organization moved “Christmas in July” to spring because of the hot conditions.
“Not only do we contend with the heat under the big tent at SBC, but we’ve been competing with graduation parties and vacations,” Marranca said. “Even though we moved the event, we are still hoping we can get the great support of the community in helping nearly 1,600 children in Greater Pittston.”
The band Unpolished will be the opening act followed by headliner Phyllis Hopkins Electric Trio takes center stage.
Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Tickets get you in the event, two drinks, and food prepared by many top restaurants from Greater Pittston.
“Typically we have ziti and meatballs, piggy’s, roast beef dishes, chicken bites, vegetable trays, desserts and more,” Marranca added. “Spring into Christmas” tickets can be purchased online at https://tinyurl.com/5atapa8c, or stop by Done Rite Carpet, 77 North Main St., Pittston, during business hours or phone Marranca at 570-299-0086.
Raffle baskets will be offered at “Spring into Christmas” along with raffle tickets for sale for a 36” Blackstone Griddle, estimated value of $500 to be raffled off on Oct. 1 – the day the GPSS headquarters opens its doors for the Christmas season.
Marranca added the annual golf tournament would be held on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025 at Wilkes-Barre Municipal Golf Course with registration at 8:15 a.m. and a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.
