Mackin named Ignatian Scholar
DURYEA — Holy Rosary School student Dana Mackin was recently named a Scranton Preparatory Ignatian Scholar.
Mackin was designated by Scranton Preparatory School based on her superior achievement on the 2017 school entrance exam.
Poziac completes research
WORCESTER, MA — Carrie Pozaic, West Wyoming, a member of the class of 2019 majoring in chemical engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), was a member of a student team that recently completed an intense, hands-on research through the WPI project center in Costa Rica.
The project was titled Analyzing VIVA Idea’s Online Content and Audience. In their project summary, the students wrote, “Our findings suggest that VIVA Idea’s audience is primarily comprised of social entrepreneurs with varying levels of practical experience, and its content requires creative and personal design elements to be more effective.”
Pennington unducted into honor society
SCRANTON — Victoria Pennington, of West Wyoming, was among The University of Scranton students inducted into Sigma Tau Delta, the national honor society in English.
