Abby Francis made 11 saves Tuesday when Wyoming Area went on the road and handed Lake-Lehman its first loss, 3-1, in the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 game.
By the end of the week, the Lady Warriors had moved past the Lady Knights into second place in the division and the top spot in the race for the No. 1 seed in the District 2 Class 2A playoffs.
Wyoming Area is 3-1-1 in the division and 7-1-2 overall.
Frankie Pisano, Kendall Day and Ava Musinski scored goals in the win.
Lake-Lehman scored first, but Pisano answered 28 seconds later off an assist from Ella Shepulski.
The Lady Warriors went ahead 2-1 at halftime on Day’s goal.
Musinki scored less than five minutes into the second half.
Lake-Lehman led in shots on goal 12-8 and corner kicks 7-2, but Francis shut out the Lady Knights over the final 51:32.
Wyoming Valley West 7, Pittston Area 0
Lola Wojciechowski took control of things early for Wyoming Valley West, scoring the game’s first four goals in the first 30 minutes of play Friday in the WVC Division 14 contest.
Wojciechowski added two assists in the second half.
Pittston Area 5, Hazleton Area 3
Pittston Area broke into the win column following an 0-7 start, winning at home Wednesday.
Berwick 7, Pittston Area 3
Berwick defeated Pittston Area Monday in the WVC Division 1 game.
Wyoming Area 5, Tunkhannock 0
Ava Musinski scored the first two goals and Alana Zdaniewicz had the last two Sept. 14 when Wyoming Area posted a shutout in the WVC Division 2 game at Tunkhannock.
Frankie Pisano scored the other goal and also had an assist.
Ella Shepulski and Emily Kostik had the other assists.
Wyoming Area led in shots on goal 18-1 and corner kicks 16-0.
Abby Francis saved the only shot she faced.
The Lady Patriots are 1-5 in the division and 1-8 overall.

The Warriors are 5-4, including 4-3 in the division.

Wyoming Area turned back visiting Tunkhannock Thursday for the first of its one-goal WVC Division 2 victories on consecutive days.

The Patriots are 1-4 in the division and 3-6-1 overall.

First-place Dallas had to work to get past visiting Pittston Area Monday to remain unbeaten in WVC Division 1.

Holy Redeemer shut out host Wyoming Area in Monday’s WVC Division 2 game.
Pittston Area 8, Berwick 1
William Egan scored three goals and assisted on two Sept. 14 to lead Pittston Area to the WVC Division 1 rout of host Berwick.
Sadiki Murindabangabo scored twice.
Gavin Wolfe added a goal and two assists.
Kyle Rowan and Jayden Rivera had the other goals. Caleb Shea had an assist.

Pittston Area fell to 2-3 in the division and 3-4 overall.

Host Crestwood swept Thursday’s WVC match by set scores of 25-5, 25-11, 25-19.
Taylor Gashi led the Lady Warriors with 10 digs and three kills.
Kaia Brown had six digs. Sara Pealer had four kills and three blocks. Madison Spittel had five digs.
The Lady Warriors are 3-3 in the WVC and overall.
Wyoming Area 3, MMI Prep 0
Taylor Gashi had nine kills, seven digs and four aces Wednesday as Wyoming Area swept host MMI Prep by scores of 25-14, 25-7, 25-18 in a WVC match.
Kenzie Galenty had 12 digs and four aces while Kaia Brown had 11 digs, six aces and five assists.
Sara Pealer contributed four kills and four aces.

Kenzie Galenty had 14 service points, 11 aces and 10 digs as Wyoming Area swept visiting Hanover Area in Monday’s WVC match.
The Lady Warriors won by set scores of 25-21, 25-12, 25-7.
Taylor Gashi had 10 kills, nine points, four aces and six digs.
Wyoming Area was able to keep rolling regardless of who was serving.
Natalee Banashefski had eight points, Kaia Brown and Madison Spittel seven each and Sara Pealer six. Banashefski and Spittel had five aces while Pealer and four and Brown three.
Brown also had six assists.
