Mary Emerick, 92, of Jackson Township, died August 2, 2008 at Hospice Community Care in Dunmore.
Born in Swoyersville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Justyna Lazar Luzetski. She was previously employed by Omalia Laundry. She is a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, and the Jackson Township Fire Department Auxiliary. She loved gardening, canning and raising African violets.
She was preceded in death by husband, Joseph Emerick, on Feb. 20, 2003; sisters, Rose Stelma, Helen Lane, Irene Kruger and Pauline Dane.
Surviving is a sister, Anne Slapar and husband, Rudy, of West Wyoming; also many nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral was Aug. 5 from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home, Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. Interment, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Dallas. Condolences can be sent to .
