Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tokash of Avoca celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 27.
They were married on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 1958 in S.S. Peter and Paul Church, Avoca by the late Reverend Peter Zardecki. Their attendants were the late Eleanor Fila and the late Edwin Tokash, Betty Shimko, Rose Carlin, Mary DeMetro, William Fila, Joseph Tokash and the late Walther Kreczkevich.
Mrs. Tokash is the former Delphine Irene Fila, daughter of the late George and Sophia Fila, Avoca. Mr. Tokash is the son of the late Frank and Irene Tokash, Dupont. He is retired from Tobyhanna Army Depot and the Pennsylvania National Guard.
The marriage has been blessed with five children, Frank, Dupont; Beverly Peters, Duryea; Denise Hague, Edgewater, MD; Lisa Oliveri, Duryea and George, Hamden, CT.They also have nine grandchildren, Frank, Nicole and William Tokash, Loryn Peters, Samantha and Jessica Oliveri and Devin, Kara Ann and Emily Tokash. They have two great grandchildren, Jaselene and Myron Tokash.
A Mass of Thanksgiving was held November 29 in S.S. Peter and Paul Church, Avoca. Following the Mass a family dinner was held at the Cafe Olivia, Pittston to celebrate the occasion, given by their children.
