The Hughestown Park and Recreation Committee is planning its annual Holiday Gift and Craft Fair to be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2. Food and refreshments will be available for sale and a basket raffle will be held.

Tire collection
Tires will be collected on Thursday, Oct. 9 and Friday, Oct. 10 as a borough truck will be placed at the borough building. No tires may be dropped off on Saturday.
This is free of charge. No tires with rims or dirt or tractor trailer tires will be accepted. Automobile, motorcylce, pick-up truck or SUV tires are acceptable.
Hughestown Police
Department course
The Hughestown Police Department will host a Taser Instructor Certification Course for the Taser Model (s) X26, X26P and the X2. This course, which will be taught by the Taser International, will certify students to instruct others on the use of the tasers.m Students are NOT required to be tased during training.
Training will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 10 and 11 at the Hughestown Borough Fire Hall, 42 Center St.. Tuition is $350 for new instructors and $175 for current instructors.
