Spring and Its Imposition
It is supposed to arrive on time,
on the calendar it says so, too much snow makes it a crime.
Some years we get surprises and then some,
this year was very wacky, and definitely not, ho hum!
Winters may be long, and have drudgery attached to them,
some people thrive on it, but most want warmth, travel, let’s a say, go get’em!
We want total mobility with our trucks and cars,
no more shoveling, sitting on a bench at night looking at stars.
Maybe one wants to plant flowers or crops,
instead of looking at snow covered roofs or tree tops.
Canadian Geese and Robins have all come to the North East,
and we wonder what can they feed on, where there’s no feast.
Birds and animals turn to survival, and I wonder how?
I would prefer an early Spring, instead of a snow plow.
We have to be patient, that’s for sure,
it’s nice to see flowers blooming, a perfect Springtime cure.
