Gregory and Constance Perks, of Mays Landing, N.J., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, LaRissa Perks, to Scott Cronick of Somers Point, N.J.
Mr. Cronick is the son of Joseph and Nancy Cronick, Dupont.
Miss Perks is an Egg Harbor Township High School alumna. She graduated cum laude from Johnson State College in Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education and recently attained her Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from Concordia University.
Currently substitute teaching within several school districts in Atlantic County, she also serves on the board of the Greater Atlantic City Jaycees and volunteers with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) as an advocate for children in foster care.
Mr. Cronick is a graduate of Seton Catholic High School in Dupont and The University of Scranton, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in both English and communications, graduating cum laude.
He has enjoyed a career spanning over two decades with The Press of Atlantic City, where he currently serves as director of entertainment publications, which includes At the Shore and Atlantic City Weekly. He also hosts the weekly radio show, Off the Press with Scott Cronick, for Longport Media on NewsTalk 1400 AM WOND and volunteers his time and services for multiple charities throughout South Jersey.
The couple were engaged at the summit of Vermont’s Mount Snow Ski Resort during a family and friends annual winter ski trip in March. They are planning to be married on Sept. 15, 2018 in Atlantic City, N.J.
