DURYEA — The Duryea VFW Post 1227, in conjunction with the Duryea American Legion Brennan-Regan Post and the Duryea Betterment Committee, will hold a dedication of the new Casualties of War Monument and the 58th annual memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday, May 29 at the Duryea VFW Post Home, 492 Stephenson St.
In keeping with the traditions, the new monument will honor soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines from Duryea who served and gave their life during combat.
Immediately following the Deployment Ceremony, the 58th Annual Memorial Service will be held in memory of all Battalion members who have lost their lives in the service for the Wyoming Valley, the commonwealth and the nation.
