Sights and Sounds of Springtime
The really frigid and snowy days of winter have come and gone,
with new sounds emerging, almost like a song.
Robins and Canadian Geese have come back east,
with accompanying rain and warm temperatures, they want to feast.
More animals have also emerged from their winter homes,
and like us, want to get around more, and move our bones.
The sounds of spring are very audible and clear,
with birds starting to sing around 5 a.m. — oh so dear!
Also, there is an animal emerging that you have to watch out for,
it’s black and white, has a bad smell, is a skunk to abhor.
They say everything has a purpose in life, we are told,
figure that one out, because they could spray even if cold.
Don’t forget that even insects like the lowly ant are now out,
and sometimes seek sanctuary indoors, and make you want to shout.
Soon all species of plants will be at their peak,
in just another couple of weeks, and a warm sun we will seek.
Leaves will fill up on all the trees,
spring has sprung, with a wonderful and mile daytime breeze.
Winters seem to last, must too long for us all.
Now we can rejoice, keep our cars clean — oh what a ball!
