LAFLIN — Prior to resigning as Mayor of Laflin, Dorothy Shea Yazurlo presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Robert F. Pinkos, a longtime resident who had served the borough in many ways.

Pinkos served as Chief of Police for years, and attended nearly every council meeting where he brought to the attention of Council several areas of the borough needing attention. He investigated problems emanating from the warehouses on Passan Drive, such as possible fire hazards and other issues which affected residents of Cedarwood Drive. He reported the increase of speeders on Laflin Road and Cedarwood Drive, and was an active member of the Neighborhood Crime Watch.

The Certificate of Appreciation was a way to say, “Thank you for a job well done.”
