West Pittston organizations will replace flags at cemetery May 26


WEST PITTSTON — The 1st Lt. Jeffrey DePrimo Post, along with local youth groups and community members, will replace worn flags at the West Pittston Cemetery Saturday, May 26.

The flag brigade will be featured in the annual Memorial Day Parade, which begins at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 28. The starting point is at the corner of Linden Street and Wyoming Avenue in West Pittston and proceeding south to the Wyoming Area Catholic School in Exeter for the post-parade program.

Honored guest this year is General Anthony Carrelli, the Adjutant General of Pensylvania, who will be the principal speaker for the program immediately following the parade.

General Carrelli has served for 33 years, participating in numerous operations including Desert Storm, Southern Watch, and operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
