WEST PITTSTON — The Wyoming Area Kiwanis Club is preparing for its Third Annual Duck Derby to be held Sunday, Sept. 2 on the West Pittston riverfront between the bridges.

Ducks are available for $5 on Facebook from PayPal at https://www.paypal.com/donate, or anyone may buy a duck from any Kiwanis member and win a chance for $500. Seconnd place will be $300 and third will be $200.

Winners do not have to be present to claim their prize

All proceeds are used for programs and events the Kiwanis Clu conducts for children and the community. The organization supports Care Bears for traumatized children, sponsors Little League and Scout programs, sponsors the Child Development Center in West Pittston, offers free monthly summer family movies in the park in West Wyoming, and prepares meals at the Ronald McDonald House each month.

The ducks will be dropped from the Dale Kridlo Bridge (Fort Jenkins) at 3 p.m. and will float to the FireFighters Memorial Bridge.
