Chupka competes in APTA Knowledge Bowl
DALLAS TWP. — Bartholomew Chupka, Exeter, was one of several Misericordia University Doctor of Physical Therapy graduate students who recently competed in the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) Knowledge Bowl in Providence, Rhode Island.
Knowledge Bowl is an interactive quiz show-like competition where 10 teams of four collegians and one alternate test their knowledge against Doctor of Physical Therapy programs across the country, while preparing for the National Physical Therapy Examination.
Kulick is Presidential Scholar
SCRANTON — Peter Kulick, of Pittston Township, was among The University of Scranton full-tuition class of 2019 Presidential Scholars who attended The President’s Business Council (PBC) 17th Annual Award Dinner for which the proceeds from the more than $1 million raised will support the University’s Presidential Scholarship Endowment Fund. More than 500 guests attended the dinner at The Pierre Hotel in New York City on Oct. 4.
Presidential Scholarships are four-year, full-tuition scholarships awarded to incoming freshmen with outstanding records in high school and notable community involvement.
Kulick is an electrical engineering major.
Leon begins internship
WILKES-BARRE — Nicholas Leon, of Wyoming, a student at King’s College, recently began a 15-week internship experience with Sportech, a company at Mohegan Sun that supplies and maintains the betting machines, specifically for horse racing.
Leon is a fifth-year mass communications major with a minor in computer science. He is the recipient of an award for excellence in game design.

A girl was born to Laurie and Stephen Schappert, Exeter, on Sept. 26.
