The Falls Active Adult Center, sponsored by The Area Agency on Aging for Luzerne/Wyoming counties, recently had a celebration honoring mothers.

• Monday, May 9, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Open House. Come take a tour and receive a free gift.
• Wednesday, May 11: Lunch & Learn at 12:15 p.m. Lois Elick, RN, BSN, from the PA Dept. of Health will discuss “Ticks and Tick Bearing Diseases.”
• Monday, May 16, 10 a.m.: Atsuko McHale will teach a class on Origami. This class is free but you must preregister.
• Thursday, May 19, Lunch & Learn at 12:15: Mary Reeves, LSW, from “The Gardens at Tunkhannock” will discuss “How to Protect Yourself Against Skin Cancer”
• Monday, May 23: Picnic at Hock Memorial Park, Church Street in Falls, is held from 9:30 to 1:30 p.m. All seniors are welcome to attend but you must RSVP by Friday morning.
• Wednesday, May 25: Lunch & Learn at 12:15 p.m. with Rachael Wydra, RN, BSN, from PA Dept. of Health to discuss “Ways to Deal with Loss”
Anyone wishing to join us for a meal at noon for a suggested donation of $2 for those 60 and over should RSVP to Twila at 570-388-2623 by 12:30 p.m. the day before.
The center is open from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is located on SR 92 in Falls, Exeter Township.
