WEST PITTSTON – Lynn Burbank, Shade Tree Commission secretary, recently issued a statement on the purpose of the commission for borough residents.

According to Burbank, the Shade Tree Commission is an entity of the borough that regulates the trees on the tree lawns in the borough.

Whenever a tree on a tree lawn, which is defined as the area between the road and the sidewalk, requires pruning or removal, a resident must get a permit except in emergency situations.

Permit applications as well as the ordinance that governs the commission can be found on the borough website https://westpittstonborough.com/shade-tree-commission/.
