PITTSTON — Shop with a Cop is a highly successful City of Pittston organization helping elementary school children purchase gifts for loved ones with the help of law enforcement for the Christmas season.
Plenty of money has to be raised to help children and one of the major fundraisers is the Shop with a Cop Gala.
The Third Annual Shop with a Cop Gala will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at the Banks Waterfront Venue.
The Shop with a Cop program promotes positive relationship with children and law enforcement. The program gives children facing challenging times the chance to have a memorable day.
In addition to gifts for their family, the committee has partnered with The Greater Pittston Santa Squad, which purchases gifts from children’s wish lists to ensure they have presents under the tree during the holiday season.
Children and their families will also receive a reusable shopping tote, free lunch and the opportunity to make s’mores with the Pittston City Fire Fighters and EMS Department at the Shop with a Cop event in December.
This holiday event is an exceptional opportunity for individuals and companies to get involved and make a difference during the holidays.
At this year’s Gala, guests can expect a one-of-a-kind menu from Pittston’s newest restaurant, The Refinery, 4-Hour Open Bar, live music from 11-piece band, Picture Perfect, and the opportunity to bid on silent auction items or enter to win a $3,000 travel voucher to plan their dream vacation.
