PITTSTON — The Greater Pittston Regional Ambulance (GPRA) has finalized plans for a new $7 million headquarters located at the former site of the Triangle Motel next to the Dollar General and across from the Sunoco/Dunkin gas station.
According to GPRA officials, the new headquarters will have garage bays for 10 to 12 emergency services vehicles, room for five offices, a spacious conference/community room, an emergency operations center, and plenty of room for storage.
A second floor will be crew quarters including separate bunk areas for men and women, kitchenette and day room.
The City of Pittston is spearheading the project for GPRA.
“We’re going to be going out to bid in the next two weeks,” City of Pittston Mayor Michael Lombardo said. “The project will be done in two phases, Phase I will be the garage area for vehicles and Phase II will be two stories to include a first-floor classroom and training area and the second floor will be office space.”
Lombardo said Phase II will go out for bid sometime next year.
In addition to the two-story Phase II, there will be a basement included for storage.
