WYOMING — Dante LaFratte has been in the food services industry for 40 years as a restaurant owner, caterer, head chef for Pittston Meals on Wheels, and now he’s utilizing his talents by creating Dante’s Inferno @ Station 291.

Dante’s Inferno has been operating out of Wyoming Hose Company #2 located at 70 East 3rd St., Wyoming, for about three weeks and according to Dante, it’s working out well.

“I received a call from the hose company asking me if I’d open up the kitchen there,” LaFratte said. “My initial intention was to prepare bar foods and train a staff to do so. After reconsidering my plans, I decided to do the work here myself.”

The Wyoming Hose Company #2 is a member-only bar, but LaFratte said if someone ordering food would like to join the hose company, he would pay for the one-year membership out of his pocket.

LaFratte said it is not necessary to join the hose company to order food, but it would be way to support the facility.

“I’ll take care of the fire hall membership,” LaFratte stated. “Even if you don’t want a meal, the bar area is a great place to gather for a drink with friends, plus it helps the hose company.”

Dante’s Inferno offers a regular menu serving Wednesday to Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with daily specials. The daily menu offers starter items, the main menu, and desserts such as hand-filled cannoli, chocolate caramel cannoli, chocolate fudge brownies with and without ice cream, banana cake with cream cheese icing, chocolate peanut butter meltaway, and raspberry white chocolate crumb cake.

You can opt to dine in-house, but LaFratte said the majority of his customers order take-out.

According to LaFratte, the menu is always evolving including the desserts.

If you are a member of Facebook, go to the Wyoming Hose Company #2 page and you will find the daily menu and specials of the day menu.

LaFratte assures all the Meals on Wheels customers, he will still be cooking for those needing a meal.

He said the catering business has not gone away either.
