Minor, heavy congestion could add time to the morning commute

Traffic is generally moving freely in the Wyoming Valley, but some scattered areas of traffic congestion could add a couple of minutes onto the morning commute.

Free-flowing traffic is reported on Interstates 81, while some scattered areas of minor congestion are reported on Interstate 476.

Scattered minor congestion is also reported on Route 315, as well as on Route 115 in the area of East Mountain Boulevard.

The North Cross Valley Expressway is free of congestion, but some could be encountered on the off-ramps.

Highland Park Boulevard and Wilkes-Barre Township Boulevard are each reporting scattered areas of heavy congestion.

Downtown, some streets are reporting scattered areas of minor and heavier congestion. Affected streets include:

• Wilkes-Barre / South Wilkes-Barre boulevards

• Spring Street

• East Northampton Street

• East Market Street

• Hazle Street

• North Main Street

• North River Street

In Kingston, scattered areas of traffic congestion are reported throughout Wyoming Avenue.
