Dear Editor:
Santa made a special visit to Avoca Queen of the Apostles auditorium on Dec. 12. More than 110 children visited with Santa and gave him a wish list of their Christmas wishes.
The party was sponsored by Avoca Crime Watch along with Avoca Police Department. The children were treated to pizza, snacks and a drink. Each child visited with Santa and was given a coloring book, stuffed animal, cookies and a ticket for a raffle on a new girls or boys bike.
Santa left his reindeer at the Avoca Fire Department and was honored to arrive at the party on their fire truck.
Much appreciation to all members of Avoca and Dupont Crime Watch and police department for their support in making this party a huge success. Special thanks to the staff of the Dispatch for excellent coverage.
