WEST PITTSTON — Customers inside a laundromat escaped injury when a vehicle plowed through the front of the business.

Crews were dispatched to the Easy Clean Laundromat at approximately 11:15 a.m. Monday for a report of a vehicle that crashed into the building. The business inside the Inslaco Shopping Center on Wyoming Avenue sustained damage to its exterior, and shattered glass and what was left of the wall laid scattered on the ground as crews worked to clear the debris.

An officer for the West Pittston Police Department said the collision occurred after an elderly man hit the gas instead of the brake while his truck was in front of the business. The officer said four people were inside when the crash happened, but no injuries were reported.

The officer did not believe that charges would be filed. A staff member for the business could not be reached for comment.
