DUNMORE — The Diocese of Scranton Forensic League held its finals competition for the fall season Nov. 3 at Holy Cross HIgh School in which students on the junior varsity and varsity levels from the Holy Redeemer and Holy Cross Systems competed.
Wyoming Area Catholic School student Benecio Carpentier, fourth grade, won fourth place on the junior varsity level.
The literary theme for this competition was Oral Interpretation of Prose as students were judged on a chosen section of a published narrative, descriptive, or expository prose of literary merit. Benecio chose the book “There Was An Old Monster” for his reading. He was scored on eight major points, preparation for performance, introduction, vocal quality, pronunciation and articulation, eye contact and facial expression, body language and gesture, interpretation and characterization.
