Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie J. Salavantis will serve as principal speaker at the Mid-Winter Breakfast Meeting of the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce Friday, Feb. 17 at the Gramercy Ballroom & Restaurant, 155 S. Main St., Pittston.
Elected in 2011 and winning her re-election campaign in 2015, Salavantis is responsible for coordinating serious investigations and prosecuting all crimes committed in Luzerne County.
Born and raised in Luzerne County, Salavantis is a graduate of the Luzerne County public school system, Temple University and Thomas M. Cooley/Western Michigan University Law School.
Her legal career began with a private practice as a general practitioner and working in conjunction with a law firm in the Wilkes-Barre area as a litigator for one of the largest insurance companies. Simultaneously, she was appointed by the Luzerne County Judiciary to act as legal counsel and/or guardian ad litem in Children & Youth dependency and termination cases.
Salavantis was also appointed in May 2013 and reappointed in February 2016 by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to the Pennsylvania Lawyer’s Fund for Client Security to help preserve the integrity of the legal profession and restore confidence in the legal system and the administration of justice.
Megan Millo, of Ken Pollock Enterprises, will serve as general chairperson of the breakfast.
Millo graduated magna cum laude from The Pennsylvania State University with a Business Degree in Marketing and Management. She is currently the Vice President of Development for Ken Pollock Enterprises in Pittston.
Millo is a board member of the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce and the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Advisory Board. She is also an active member of the Greater Pittston Chamber of Commerce Women’s Network, Westmoreland Club as an ambassador and also the Association for the Blind’s Annual Golf Committee and has served as the co-chair for the association’s annual dinner.
