Sunny skies and cold temperatures are in the forecast for the Wyoming Valley today and Sunday.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 19 degrees as of 7:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and overcast conditions were reported.

Today’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies, with a high near 26. Northwest wind will be 9 to 17 mph.

Tonight is expected to be clear, with a low around 7 and wind chill values as low as -3.

On Sunday expect sunny skies with a high near 35. Wind chill values as low as -3.

Sunday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 21. Calm wind.

On Monday the forecast calls for a slight chance of snow and freezing rain before 10 a.m., then a slight chance of rain showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 49. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Monday night expect a chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 39. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
